Style
your hair extensions just like you
would with your own hair so that the two match. If you have short layers, you
may wish to ask the hairdresser to trim the
hair extensions, provided they are real
human hair extensions, and add in layers that match your own hair.
This
will instantly makes them look more natural as sometimes if you have shorter
hair, very long extensions can look a little unnatural.
Listed
below are some easy ways to style your real hair extensions you can do at home. Let’s try it!
- Curling
your real hair extensions
One
way to style your hair extensions is by curling them. To do this, curl each
weft by using a heated curling tong, before clipping them into place. This is a
much more manageable way of curling your hair extensions and making sure that
all wefts are curled evenly. Our tried and tested method for creating relaxed
curls is to tong hair section by section, working in the largest widths of hair
possible (you don’t want to have to over-style your hair extensions too much).
Always remember to prep both your own tresses and your clip-ins with a heat
defence spray first. Also, for best results, we recommend using large barrel
curling tongs, on their lowest heat setting to create gorgeous, tumbling curls
that are kinder on hair extensions.
Finish
by running your fingers through your curls to blend your extensions in with
your real hair. Distribute a smattering of a shine-boosting product throughout
your locks in order to give your hair a healthy-looking luster
- High
ponytail
Another
way to style your real hair extensions
is to gather them into a high ponytail. In order to achieve a high, hair-extension friendly ponytail, you
will need to clip your extensions in backwards so that they are facing in the
right direction. The easiest way to do this is to flip your hair upside down,
and, working from the nape of your neck, clip the extensions in facing in the
same direction as the rest of your hair.
Once
your real hair extensions are clipped in, all that remains to do is to flip
your hair back the right way up and tie your hair into a high ponytail.
- Fishtail
braid
Here,
we think that fishtail braids always look their best when long and voluminous.
But if you need a bit of a helping hand on the length and volume front, simply
reach for your faithful hair extensions, and clip them in as normal. Brush them
through to make sure that there are no tangles.
Gather
your hair over one shoulder and divide it into two sections. Then, proceed to
braid your locks by taking thin strands of hair from each section and crossing
them over to the opposite section. Continue to plait your hair in this way,
right to the very tips, then secure with a clear hair elastic for a flawless
finish.

3 ways to style your hair extensions prove that our clip-ins are more than
capable of multitasking! What’s your favourite way to style your hair
